Christopher Guerrero’s journey in boxing began at age 12 when he joined the Underdog Boxing Club to learn self-defense. Under the guidance of coach Mike Moffa, his relentless dedication and steady progress quickly became evident.
His amateur career laid a strong foundation, with standout performances at provincial, national, and international levels. Guerrero captured his first Canadian championship title in 2017, followed by a Silver Gloves victory and a second national championship in 2019. Competing across Canada, the United States, and Tunisia, he advanced to the semifinals of the 2020 national team selections. Realizing it was time for a new challenge, the Montreal native of Mexican heritage made the decision to turn professional.
Guerrero made his pro debut in January 2021 in Mexico, securing his first win. After earning unanimous decisions in his initial four fights, he transitioned to working with coach Giuseppe Moffa. Under this new partnership, he achieved five consecutive knockouts. In 2024, Guerrero continued to impress: a dominant unanimous decision over eight rounds in January was followed by a stunning first-round KO of Kenny Larson in May, earning him the Knockout of the Night. He capped the year by dismantling the seasoned Courtney Pennington in four rounds, claiming the Performance of the Night.
These victories propelled Guerrero into the international spotlight, earning him the #15 ranking with the IBF. At just 23 years old, Christopher Guerrero, a.k.a. ‘Machine Gun’ is gearing up for a monumental 2025, poised to solidify his position as a serious contender in the highly competitive 147-pound division.
