Background & Amateur Career

Inspired by fellow Cuban Roniel Iglesias, Havana-born boxer Osleys Iglesias began boxing at the age of seven. He quickly made a name for himself in the amateur ranks and joined Cuba’s prestigious national team at just 15. Over the years, he won 184 of his 200 amateur bouts, including victories over elite fighters such as Arlen Lopez, Gleb Bakshi and David Morrell Jr. In 2019, after winning the Cologne World Cup, he left the Cuban national team and moved to Germany to pursue his professional ambitions. That day, he called his mother and promised her that the next time they saw each other, he would be a unified super middleweight champion.

Dominating on the International Stage

Soon after, Iglesias joined Eye of the Tiger and made an explosive North American debut. In March 2023, he demolished Marcelo Coceres in the first round. He returned in June with an even more spectacular performance, delivering a potential Knockout of the Year against Evgeny Shvedenko—again in the opening round. In August, he stopped former world-title contender Sena Agbeko in under two rounds, doing so even faster than David Morrell Jr. had against the Ghanaian fighter. Then, in 2024, he capped off another explosive year by stopping undefeated world contender Petro Ivanov in the fifth round. Now holding a record of 13 wins, including 12 knockouts—six of them in the first round—“El Tornado” is tearing through everyone in his path. In 2025 and beyond, fans can expect him to continue that devastating run until every title is wrapped around his waist, just as he promised his mother years ago.
