Christian Mbilli stepped into a boxing gym for the first time at the age of 15. That same year, after earning his first victory, he immediately impressed with his exceptional talent and extraordinary physical condition. He continued his successful run throughout the year, finishing third at the French Cadet Championships. The Cameroon native continued to accumulate victories until he easily captured the European Championship, in addition to the Senior National Championship title. At just 19 years old, he was crowned European Union Champion and later earned first place in the qualification tournament for the 2016 Olympic Games. During his participation at the Rio Olympic Games, the young prodigy finished in fourth place. In total, Christian Mbilli accumulated more than 80 amateur bouts, in addition to competing in the World Series of Boxing (WSB), where he earned three victories against fighters from the world elite.

Hungry for challenges, Christian Mbilli made the decision to move to Montreal in 2017 to begin his professional career alongside his new trainer, Marc Ramsay. Starting in 2018, championship opportunities began arriving one after another. He captured the WBC Youth World Championship, WBC Youth Intercontinental Championship, WBCFrancophone Championship, WBC Continental Championship, and WBA International Championship, successfully defending those titles multiple times. In 2024, the fighter known as “Solide” definitively reached the next level. Thanks to explosive and dominant victories over top-10 world contenders Carlos Góngora, Rohan Murdock, and Sergiy Derevyanchenko, he is now ranked #1 by the WBC and WBA at 168 lb. More importantly, and now more than ever, his reputation knows no borders, as American promoter Top Rank joined forces with EOTTM to make Christian Mbilli a rising star on the ESPN network.
In June 2025, Christian Mbilli reached the pinnacle. “Solide” stopped Maciej Sulecki in the first round in a WBC Interim World Championship bout presented in front of nearly 6,000 fans at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City. Shortly after winning his first world title, he successfully made his first title defense in September against Guatemalan powerhouse Lester Martinez. This fight, held in Las Vegas as part of the undercard for Canelo-Crawford, was watched by nearly 40 million viewers on Netflix. With Christian Mbilli’s popularity reaching unprecedented heights, major opportunities are no longer out of reach for the Montreal resident, who finally received the offer he had been waiting for: a fight against Mexican legend Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the fall of 2026 in Riyadh.
