Mehmet Unal

Hailing from Adana, Turkey, Mehmet Unal has always been naturally athletic. His journey into combat sports began during his teenage years, starting with kickboxing and later transitioning to Olympic boxing.

Kickboxing laid the foundation for Mehmet’s boxing career, exposing him to high-level national and international competitions, including bouts under the prestigious K-1 promotion. Eventually, he joined the Fenerbahçe Boxing Club’s competitive team in Istanbul. A fierce competitor with impressive athletic abilities, Unal achieved significant success, particularly at the European Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which secured him a spot on Turkey’s national team for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Competing in the 81 kg division, he finished in the top 10, a testament to his skill and determination.

In July 2021, Mehmet Unal made a thunderous professional debut after joining Eye of the Tiger. Now based in Montreal, the Turkish-born boxer quickly built a fearsome reputation in the light heavyweight division.

Known for his punching power, relentless pressure, and high output, Mehmet Unal (11-0, including 9 KOs) has proven nearly unstoppable. In 2024 alone, he delivered back-to-back 10-round stoppages against previously indestructible opponents Rodolfo Gomez Jr. and Armenak Hovhannisyan. Displaying the readiness to tackle any challenge, Mehmet is poised for a breakout year in 2025. Already ranked in the top 40 by both the WBC and Boxrec, his ascent under the guidance of Marc Ramsay shows no signs of slowing down.
