Background & Amateur Career

Moreno Fendero, known as “The Soldier,” is as compelling as his nickname. He chose it because he literally served in the French Army, and he now brings military values—discipline, consistency and hard work—to his boxing career. The results speak for themselves. From the moment he stepped into a boxing gym in 2015, the athlete of Central African heritage quickly earned a place on the French national team. He claimed his first honours in 2016 before winning the French Junior Championship in 2017. In 2018, he repeated the feat in the senior ranks, defeating Victor Yoka. His rapid, success-filled progression continued. In 2021, Fendero won his second French national title and earned bronze at the European Championships. He continued to reach new heights, claiming bronze at the 2022 Mediterranean Championships and again at the 2023 World Championships.

Professional Debut & Rise

Watching his compatriot Christian Mbilli find success in the professional ranks, the idea of making the leap himself gradually became more appealing. It was therefore in June 2023 that Moreno Fendero reached an agreement with Eye of the Tiger to begin his new professional journey under the guidance of renowned trainer Marc Ramsay.

“The Soldier” on a Mission to the Top

Well established in Montreal, he continues to take on fights and wins the 2024 EOTTM Rookie of the Year award. In 2025, he earns the EOTTM Knockout of the Year award for his triumph over Edison Demaj. Then, in 2026, he makes his mark on the international stage by winning the same WBC continental title against Shawn McCalman—a belt that once belonged to Mbilli. Following in the footsteps of “Solide” at the gym, Moreno Fendero is also heavily involved outside the ring, both in amateur boxing galas and charitable events. It would therefore come as no surprise to see “The Soldier” become a fan favorite among Quebec boxing fans in the years to come.
