Pride of Holguin, Cuba, Lenar Perez proudly represented the prestigious Cuban National Team in the amateur ranks. Despite one of the most competitive Olympic boxing systems in the world, he captured four National Championships before deciding to leave his homeland to become a professional boxer and, one day, a world champion.
Won the first final of his career on Quebec soil, becoming the first man since Oleksandr Usyk to stop two-time world-title challenger Thabiso Mchunu.
Became WBA Continental cruiserweight champion by winning every round against former world champion Isaac Chilemba.
Defeated former world-title challenger Aleksei Egorov by decision, breaking into the world’s top five in the cruiserweight rankings.
Initially based in Russia, the cruiserweight (200 lb) prospect competed throughout Europe from 2019 to 2025. Combining the science of Cuban boxing with extraordinary power, Lenar Perez won his first 14 fights by knockout. In April 2025, he faced his first major test and earned a victory over former world title challenger—and fan favorite—Aleksei Egerov in Bosnia.
Unable to capitalize on this important victory, Lenar Perez decided to expand his team and take his career to the next level by joining Eye of the Tiger in November 2025. In March 2026, he made a successful North American debut by dominating former champion Isaac Chilemba over 10 rounds to capture the WBA Continental Cruiserweight Championship, with the organization ranking him #3 in the world. With this kind of positioning, in the heart of a division undergoing major changes, it would notbe surprising to see Lenar Perez bring the first world cruiserweight championship to Quebec—and sooner rather than later.
