A NEW ACQUISITION FOR EOTTM

Eye of the Tiger’s primary objective is to recruit talented athletes to unlock their full potential. To achieve this, the organization is dedicated to a constant effort in scouting and recruitment. With immense pride, Eye of the Tiger announces the addition of French boxer Moreno Fendero, a southpaw competing in the 75kg amateur division. Fendero will make his professional debut in the 160 lb division on August 19 at Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City, alongside the middleweight unification bout between champion Artur Beterbiev and Callum Smith.

Dubbed “the Bangui Bull” in tribute to his Central African heritage, the 24-year-old athlete embarked on the noble art of boxing in 2015. Within a few months of training, he earned a spot on the French national team and achieved early successes, including being crowned the French junior vice-champion in 2016 and winning a gold medal in 2017.

His transition to the senior ranks in 2018 proved equally fruitful. He triumphed over Victor Yoka to claim the French Elite title, which he successfully defended in 2021. Fendero also secured a notable third-place finish at the European Championships and later at the Elite World Championships in 2023.

Fendero’s aspiration to compete in the professional circuit began to take shape as he witnessed his compatriots Mathieu Bauderlique and Christian Mbilli pursue successful careers.

After engaging in discussions with Eye of the Tiger, it became evident to Fendero that joining EOTTM was the perfect choice to launch his professional journey. His training camp for the #BeterbievSmith gala will commence in his hometown of Aubervilliers, France, before relocating to Quebec to train under the guidance of Marc Ramsay.

“I selected Canada because Marc Ramsay and his team have done a remarkable job with Christian Mbilli, and I extend my congratulations to them. Exploring a new land is essential for me, as is embracing this fresh working dynamic alongside Marc Ramsay’s team. I trust that they possess the expertise to help me become ‘THE next big thing,’ and I’m willing to invest the necessary time and effort to make it happen.”

For Eye of the Tiger president Camille Estephan, this signing represents another milestone in the company’s growth and development:

“It goes without saying that having a talent as exceptional and promising as Moreno among our ranks, particularly as a French native, will undoubtedly strengthen our position on the international stage. We persist in our mission to conquer new markets, as we did in France with Christian Mbilli, whose remarkable performances have reverberated worldwide. I commend Marc Ramsay for his recruitment efforts, enabling us to unearth the world’s finest talents.”
